Terms of Service — FaceUp Pairs

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading and using FaceUp Pairs, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the application. These Terms cover FaceUp Pairs only; the FaceUp blackjack app has its own Terms of Service.

2. Description of Service

FaceUp Pairs is a mobile memory game for entertainment purposes only, offering a Career mode of numbered levels, an Endless mode, a Daily Challenge, and a global leaderboard. The app is free to download, is supported by advertising, and offers optional in-app purchases for virtual items. No real money gambling is offered or permitted, and nothing in the game can be won, cashed out, or exchanged for money.

3. Eligibility

Because the app contains advertising, you must be at least 13 years old — or older where the law of your country requires it, including 16 in parts of the European Economic Area — to use it. The app is not directed to children. If you are a minor, you may only use the app with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

4. No Account

FaceUp Pairs requires no account, no password and no personal information. An anonymous player ID is generated on your device at first launch and identifies you on the leaderboard. You are responsible for the device holding that ID: if you delete the app in a way that clears the ID, or use "Delete my data", your leaderboard identity and server-side scores are lost and cannot be recovered. Progress stored on your device (levels, stars, coins, boosters) is likewise lost if you delete the app, and we cannot restore it.

5. Usernames and Public Content

You choose a username the first time you submit a score. It is public. Usernames must be 3 to 20 characters long, made only of letters, digits and underscores, must be available, and must not be offensive, impersonate anyone, or suggest an official or staff role. We filter usernames automatically and may rename a username that is reported by other players or that we find in breach of these rules, without notice. The number of times you can change your username within a given period is limited.

6. Fair Play and the Leaderboard

The leaderboard is verified: the server issues the seed of each scored game, your device returns its moves, and the server replays them to recalculate the score and run plausibility checks. You agree not to:

Modify, reverse-engineer, automate or otherwise tamper with the game or its network traffic to influence a score
Submit scores that were not produced by genuinely playing the game
Use the app for illegal or unauthorized purposes
Harass, threaten, or abuse other players, including through your username

We may reject or remove any score, reset a username, or block a player ID from the leaderboard where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

7. Advertising

The app shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Rewarded ads are always optional: you decide whether to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward, and declining never prevents you from continuing to play. Interstitial ads appear only between games and are capped. Where the law requires it, your consent for personalized advertising is collected before any ad is personalized, and you can change that choice at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy. 8. Virtual Items and Purchases

The app provides access to virtual items — coins, boosters, icon packs and similar digital goods — that can be earned through gameplay or purchased with real money. These items are licensed to you for use inside the app only. They are not your property, are not redeemable for real money, have no real-world value, and cannot be exchanged, transferred, sold, or used outside the app. We may change the price, the availability, or the in-game effect of any virtual item, and may discontinue the app, in which case any unused virtual items are forfeited except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Paid options include a one-time purchase that removes interstitial advertising. It is a single purchase, not a subscription, and nothing in the app renews automatically. Purchases are tied to your store account and can be restored from Settings → Restore purchases.

9. Refund Policy

All purchases are processed via the app store you downloaded the app from (Apple App Store or an equivalent Android store). Because the items provided are digital and available immediately, all sales are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law.

Any refund requests must be submitted directly to that store, according to its refund policies. We do not provide direct refunds or exchanges for in-app purchases.

10. Availability of the Service

The game itself is playable offline. The leaderboard, the Daily Challenge and purchase restoration require an internet connection and depend on servers we may take offline for maintenance, or discontinue. We do not guarantee that the leaderboard will remain available indefinitely, and we may reset a seasonal or weekly ranking as part of normal operation.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, design, graphics, source code, and trademarks within the app remain the exclusive property of Stanislas & Anatole Beaudoin, except third-party assets used under their own licenses. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is strictly prohibited.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free gameplay, or that the app will meet all user expectations.

13. Limitation of Liability

Stanislas & Anatole Beaudoin shall not be liable for any damages, direct or indirect, arising from the use or inability to use the app, including but not limited to data loss, device issues, or financial loss. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

14. Modifications

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes within the app or via the official website.

15. Suspension and Termination

We may block a player ID from the leaderboard or from online features, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms — including the fair-play rules in Section 6 — or if we reasonably suspect cheating, fraud, or abuse. You may stop using the app at any time, and erase everything we hold about you from Settings → Privacy → Delete my data. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, and 17) remain in effect afterwards.

16. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of France. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France, without prejudice to the mandatory protections available to consumers in their country of residence.
