Introduction

This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use FaceUp Pairs, a memory game published by Stanislas & Anatole Beaudoin. It covers this game only; the FaceUp blackjack app has its own privacy policy.

No Account

FaceUp Pairs has no sign-up, no password and no login. We never ask for your name, your email address or your phone number. Instead, the first time you launch the game it generates a random anonymous player ID on your device. On iOS that ID is stored in the system keychain, which means it survives reinstalling the app, so you keep your place on the leaderboard without ever creating an account.

Data Collection

The app and its leaderboard server handle:

Your progress — levels cleared, stars, your personal Endless record, your coins, boosters and settings — is stored on your device only and is not sent to us.

Use of Data

Information is used to run the global, weekly and daily leaderboards and calculate your rank; to verify scores and keep the ranking free of cheating; to moderate public usernames; to show ads and, if you have purchased it, to remove them; to process purchases and restore them on a new device; to provide support; and to meet legal and store obligations.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Sharing occurs only with the service providers the game needs to work: Render for hosting the leaderboard server, Supabase for its database, Google AdMob for advertising, RevenueCat together with the Apple App Store (or equivalent Android store) for processing purchases, and an analytics provider used to measure how the game is played. Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area (notably in the United States); where that is the case, transfers rely on the provider's own GDPR-compliant safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Advertising and Tracking

FaceUp Pairs is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Rewarded video ads are always optional — you choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward, such as an extra life, doubled coins or a hint — and interstitial ads appear only between games, never during one, and are capped.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we show Google's consent form (UMP) before any personalized advertising, and you can reopen it at any time from Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy. On iOS, we also ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before any tracking-based advertising identifier is used. If you decline either, ads still show — they are simply not personalized. You can change your iOS choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Buying Pairs+ or any pack that removes ads stops interstitial ads entirely; optional rewarded ads remain available if you want the rewards.

Purchases

Purchases are made through the store you downloaded the game from and are processed by RevenueCat on our behalf. We never see or store your payment card details. We receive a purchase receipt tied to your anonymous player ID so the game knows what you own and can restore it.

Notifications

The game can send local reminders on your device — for example when your daily chest is ready, or when your daily streak is about to end. We never ask for notification permission at first launch, only after we have explained what the reminders are for, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings or in your device's settings.

Your Rights and Deleting Your Data

Under applicable regulations such as GDPR, you may access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data at any time, and you may object to certain processing.

Because there is no account, deletion is immediate and self-service: Settings → Privacy → Delete my data erases your player ID, username and scores from our server, then resets the game on your device with a brand-new anonymous ID and progress reset to zero. If you are offline when you ask, the deletion is queued and sent as soon as you are back online. You can also write to us at help.faceup@gmail.com.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Data Retention

Your player ID, username and scores are kept for as long as you keep playing, so your rank stays meaningful; they are removed as soon as you use "Delete my data". Move logs kept for anti-cheat verification are retained only for the time needed to verify and defend a score. Some purchase and transaction records may be retained longer where required by accounting, tax, or fraud-prevention law.

Public Content and Moderation

The leaderboard is the only public part of the game, and the only thing it shows is your chosen username and your score. Usernames are limited to 3–20 letters, digits and underscores, are filtered for offensive content on both the device and the server, and reserved names are blocked. Every row in the ranking lets you report a username; past a small number of reports a username is automatically replaced with a neutral placeholder pending review. You can also hide another player from your own view of the leaderboard.

Children

FaceUp Pairs is not directed to children. Because it contains advertising, you must be at least 13 years old — or older where your country requires it, including 16 in parts of the European Economic Area — to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age; if you believe a child has, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

All traffic between the game and our server is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Scores are authenticated with a per-device secret token and re-verified server-side, and the server applies rate limiting. We implement technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the game evolves. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
